Lives and works in London (UK). Goldwater is interested in intimate exchange and the durational. She often makes performances that last many hours – this dedication to process is a way of transforming the everyday, erotic and grotesque into a spiritual act. A mutual witnessing occurs between herself and her audience that explores the limits of permissible intimacy and the implications of transgressing boundaries in the moment of performance. This exchange with another person – the audience - is ‘the live experience’. It is indefinable in terms of the intellect, it is the unknown, a place impossible to articulate or analyse whilst it is happening. The moment of symbiosis, the apex of ‘the live’, creates a transformation through physical action where the personal responsibility of the audience exists on the same level as the artist. It places both audience and performer in unfamiliar territories allowing for a confrontation where dialogue becomes unavoidable. Goldwater's work has been shown internationally, in the UK, at Tate Liverpool, Newlyn Art Gallery, Art First, and recently at Performatorium in Canada. She teaches at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.

At the VENICE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART WEEK 2012, Goldwater presents the live durational performance and installation Once in a while it's important to clear out your glory-hole, and speak about The Notion of 'Intimacy'.
