Greek artist Evangelia Basdekis (born 1972 in Athens) lives and works in Athens and London. She works across the mediums and often spices her live works with ribald humour and self-deprecating irony. All her gesture is symbolic, and repetition is used as a ritualistic and productive routine-gesture helping to indicate the power and violence of authority.

At the VENICE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART WEEK 2016, Basdekis presents the long durational performance Regimes of TruthsThe work comments on four historic male figures that have mostly influenced, shaped and "haunted" the artist's personality, sexuality and her later development as a thinker-human being, while asking to undermine current politics, ideologies and identity.
