Born in Venice (Italy). Lives and works in Athens (Greece).
Dionysus is the patron saint of the descendants of Cain; the linguistic chaos that disrupts the city of Babel. Our quality of fragile human beings but capable to generate artifices and overcome the limits imposed by nature, makes us hybrid creatures, which are constantly shifting "between and among": the natural - the artificial; the tangible - the virtual; experience - sublimation. The ephemeral and organic material of Kiàis' art works here turn to be the ideal ground for a performatic game on the edge of creativity skill and destructiveness, human and divine, present and history, the individual and the collective.
At the VENICE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART WEEK, Kiais will present the installation "The Sleep of Dionysus" and the video "[Noli] me tangere [Do not] cling to me", 2012.
